The Role
As a Quality Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll support the Quality Manager in ensuring the Type 31 Royal Navy Frigate quality objectives are met when it comes to the ships outfitting.
Day to day, you’ll conduct product verification audits and quality investigations on board ship as required, as well as:
The Installation inspection and acceptance of ships machinery/equipment & systems Provide close liaison with Lloyds Register (LR) and other inspection and verification bodies as required. Manage the inspection test report inspection regime and maintain completion records within CMS. Manage and coordinate LR inspections.. Update and communicate inspection metrics in line with day-to-day activities.
This role is full time and based onsite at Rosyth.
Experience required of the Quality Controller
An excellent knowledge of quality control requirements The capability to assess the work carried out by production and their subcontractors to assure the quality and the technical acceptability of the work presented. A background knowledge in outfitting whether it be from Construction / Civil Engineering / Ship Building etc An understanding of ship installations is beneficial Ability to read and interpret system drawings & specifications.
