Quality Data Specialist- RN
Job Summary: The Quality Data Specialist-RN works under the supervision of the Quality Manager & subsequently the Director of Quality to ensure accurate reporting in accordance with current applicable federal, state, & local standards & regulations. Job Duties & Responsibilities: · Adheres to regulatory standards & hospital policy. · Maintains professional & technical knowledge & pursues professional growth opportunities. · Serves as a positive role model for staff. · Keeps access to protected health information secure & confidential. · Establishes a safe, supportive work environment that promotes teamwork. · Collaborates with organizational stakeholders on regulatory reporting including but not limited to: HCAHPS, STAR, NHSN/Infection Control, IP & OP Quality Measures, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. · Coordinates, collects, & reports data by way of various programs to meet CMS requirements. · Participate in the quality related committees and groups as assigned by the Quality Manager. · Analyzes & monitors performance data to determine trends to reduce costs & improve patient services. · Assists with coverage & during times of influx (flu shot season) in employee health & infection as needed. · Manages quality projects as assigned by the Quality Manager & Director of Quality. · May need to function as a bedside nurse in an emergency. · Assist with other duties as assigned by the manager or director. Essential Skill Competencies: · Possess computer skills with applications of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & web-based research. · Effectively maneuvers the Electronic Health record to obtain information relevant to job duties. · Possess ability to prioritize & carry out work duties independently & efficiently, self-directed & flexible. · Process professional knowledge of health care services & complex hospital workflows & processes. · Possess the ability to take direction & work well in groups & independently. Education, Experience & Performance Requirements: · Must have a current RN license from the Mississippi Board of Nursing. · A minimum of three years of hospital acute care nursing experience is preferred. · Must keep access to protected health information secure & confidential. · Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word. · Must have diligence & the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced changing environment. · Requirements that if not held at time of hire will be required after hire depending on class availability: A. TB Surveillance & Testing Certification (TBST) B. DOT Urine Drug Screening certification C. N95 Respirator Fit Test training Exposure Classifications: Moderate exposure risk
