Position Purpose:
Develop and design Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions. Provides expertise and analytical support for the Quality and Patient Safety department by interpreting data sets and provides key insights to help answer questions, solve problems, and help with making critical business decisions. Interfaces with a variety of internal and external organization databases to obtain required data, such as Vizient, Press Ganey and others. Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization for existing Power BI reports.
Population Served:
Quality and Patient Safety Department, Informatics team, Patient Safety, Quality, Operational Excellence and other Caregivers. System and Facility senior leaders, service line leaders, and medical directors.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and design BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI. Connect and integrate multiple data sources and ensure data accuracy. Data sources may include but are not limited to, Vizient CDB, Excel, Press Ganey, Get with the Guidelines, The Joint Commission and CMS into Power BI. Write and optimize DAX queries for report generation. Implement row-level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions. Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization for existing Power BI reports. Analyze and communicate results to key stakeholders to help drive improvement throughout the organization. Present insights using our analytical solution to key stakeholders. Participates in regular reviews of the Data Quality Report (DQR) Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting. Report data in a comprehensive and repeatable wayThis position will complete special projects as assigned. This position may include other responsibilities such as data integration, maintenance of applicable databases and other supporting databases.
Special Skills:
Proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, and DAX. Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing. Understanding of data management Knowledge of data mining techniques and statistics. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Quick learning of new technology Strong written and oral communication skills Can work independently. Resilient in tough conversations Confident in facilitating conversations across a wide range of caregivers. Driven by curiosity to drill into data to find opportunities. Good organizational skills: ability to prioritize, use good time management and adhere to deadlines as directed.Experience:
Expertise with Power BI required. Vizient experience preferred. Experience with data analysis and statistics Familiar with SQL or other query languages Experience using Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.Reporting Relationships:
Reports to the Sr. Director, System Quality Informatics and works closely with the EVP, Chief Quality Officer, Director of Patient Safety\Quality.
