Hexcel is looking for a Quality Engineer 4 for their Kent, WA, USA location. The Quality Engineer 4 will be responsible for providing leadership and direction of quality and inspection, planning, change management, and Bill of Material (BOM) planning. Additionally, the QE 4 must ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of processes and quality controls by involvement in quality review boards, writing and approving specifications, and corrective actions analysis, performing audits and evaluating audit findings for corrective action.
Summary pay range: $ 71,364 - $122,337 annual salary.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Develop and maintain quality assurance programs, which include policies, processes, procedures and controls ensuring that performance and quality of products conform to established standards and agency guidelines.
Contract, drawing and specification reviews to develop quality plans and inspection criteria. Review/approve production planning with respect to the quality, first article and inspection requirements.Communication with internal and external stakeholders. Customer relations - regular and frequent communication with customer's quality assurance organizations. Communicating quality standards and updates to workforce and supporting training of personnel.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Review/process non-conforming materials. Drive continuous improvement for production process and inspection effectiveness. Supporting customer/internal MRB. Corrective/preventive action.Conduct internal and external audits as required.Assess and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and customers.Coordinate site visits for customers, suppliers, internal people, and local technical groups/associations and present technical data internally, to customers, and to suppliers. Safety Champion within the engineering group. Support the safety and environmental programs by meeting applicable requirements pertaining to the specific department and position, as well as all general guidelines, as outlined in the facility Accident Prevention Plan.Qualifications:
High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in engineering strongly preferred.
5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer; equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.Experience with composite materials and lean manufacturing is a plus. Lean/Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification preferred. CQE certification strongly preferred. Certified Lead Auditor training preferred.Familiarity or hands-on experience with measurement and inspection equipment.Knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap requirements.Working knowledge of statistical methods/SPC.
