POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing operation and products are following quality, compliance, and customer requirements through internal audits, quality plan development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will also

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, implement, and maintain the Thomasville Quality Management SystemCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering in the validation of new equipment, processes, inspection/measurement methods, and/or acceptance criteria.Assist the Quality Manager by serving in a leadership role, working with cross-functional teams to address quality issues with the use of systematic improvement and problem-solving tools.(i.e. Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, A3, etc.)Setup and maintain systems for data collection, analysis and reporting of KPIs as established in the Factory’s Daily Management system.Manage test records/ results/documentation to comply with process control plans, ISO standards and document control revisions.Interface with suppliers on key quality issues during launch, production and performing periodic audits/reviewsCollaborate with cross-functional teams with process improvements via project ownership, Kaizen events participation, address quality issues, and drive corrective and preventive actionsWork with manufacturing operations to develop control plans, FMEAs, standard work, SOP’s, policies, and business proceduresProvides training/coaching to the manufacturing organization regarding Quality concepts, inspection methods, acceptance criteria or other procedure changes/improvementsPerforms other related duties as needed and assignedProvide training and guidance to employees to promote quality awarenessParticipates in any necessary rework, recall, or troubleshooting activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree and or related field, or 7+ years experience in a Quality Engineering roleMinimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering roleExperience working in ISO or other regulated manufacturing environmentsWorking knowledge of Quality techniques such as Pareto, PPAP, Control Plans, SPC, APQP, DOE, Gauge R&R, Sampling Plans (AQL) and other quality related statistical tools

 COMPETENCIES:

Ability to think analytically, creatively, and independently with excellent problem-solving skillsIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, advanced level MS Excel userExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teamsDemonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlinesDemonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement; track record leading and implementing sustainable process improvements, seeking out and implementing internal or external best practices
