Quality Engineer

The primary purpose of this job is to support and under the direction of quality engineers, quality specialist and/or supervisors, analyzes and solves quality problems, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects sampling plan applications, prepares procedures, performs audits, analyzes quality costs and other quality data, and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control. + Advanced Quality planning + Balloon drawings + Create IMS/AS9102 Form + Create Risk Assessments + Update quality paperwork + Maintain specification library + Generate and package FAI or Delta FAI Package for presentation to Designated Quality Representative + Certification Review + Maintenance of raw material certifications + Update Syteline with material status + Designated Quality Representative + Over inspection of hardware and documentation prior to shipment + Documenting over inspection per customer requirements + Contributes to continuous improvement and supports 5S initiatives + Generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas **Basic Qualifications** + Bachelors degree in an engineering field + In lieu of a Bachelors degree, 5 years experience working in quality + 3+ years experience working in quality in a manufacturing environment **Preferred** + Experience as a Designated Quality Representative (DQR) + Experience in root cause analysis + Experience generating FAI packages + Knowledge of aerospace and flight safety hardware requirements + Knowledge of GD&T + Experience with use of customer portals, i.e. PWA, Sikorsky, and GE **Essential Skills** + Skilled in problem solving + Skilled in Quality concepts of TQM and SPC + Skilled in system organization and task management + Ability to work with Windows-based software + Ability to read and understand blueprints + Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats + Ability to read and comprehend purchase order and specification requirements + Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools + Ability to work in a team environment + Ability to handle multiple projects at one time **We** **thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
