Quality Engineer

We're hiring high performers as proven as our products. Join us. ATI is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our facility located in Margate, FL. A successful Quality Engineer will utilize engineering talents to support new product, reduce cost, eliminate waste, and minimize the opportunities for defects. Assist Quality Manager by supporting the Quality Management System for additive manufacturing components and assemblies. **Essential Functions** (other duties may be assigned) + Assist with conducting conformance audits and approval of Internal procedures, External suppliers, Product compliance to customer requirements + Host customer representatives for the purpose of product release source inspection + Participate in the investigation of product and process failures that impact customer product. Work with the customer in an ethical manner that helps resolve these failures + Generate balloon prints, inspection plans, and AS9102 forms used by others + Participate and provide documentation for root cause analysis, and corrective action processes + Represent ATI during audits of Quality System, procedures, product, and process + Conduct training of ATI personnel in conjunction with corrective action resulting from internal or external auditor findings + Support the QA Manager as needed in the review and development of Quality Programs + Assist Engineering in developing the most economical means to manufacture and appraise the product + Monitor and access effectiveness of the quality plan in assuring a product that satisfies our customer’s needs + Review customer and regulatory requirements and determine and create appropriate Quality System Procedures + Participate in internal audits + Participate in MRB disposition process + Participate in Corrective and Preventative Actions + Preparation of documents for management review + Review specification, Quality Systems, and GD&T issues + Setup and operation of CMMs to perform inspection + Setup and operation of laser and light scanning systems with software + Review and approval of manufacturing practices and work instructions + Obtain customer waivers/variations as required + Provide ATI’s input for customer and/or government specifications and drawings + Coordinate customer quality visitation and survey reviews and report results + Provide technical guidance working with sales, engineering, and manufacturing + Establish and maintain records of approvals, quality ratings + Review drawings and aid in identification of areas of difficulty or added costs + Contribute to continuous improvement and support 5S initiatives + Generate suggestions for improving work; develop innovative approaches and ideas + Authority to perform all tasks/activities responsible for **Basic Requirements** + Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent years' experience + 3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, quality systems, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing initiatives **Preferred** + Experience with cast and forged parts + Experience with metal additive parts + Experience in welded/joined parts + Knowledge of aerospace requirements + Knowledge of flight safety hardware requirements + Knowledge of regulated and critical industry **Essential Skills** + Skilled in time and project management + Skilled in problem solving techniques + Skilled in system organization and task management + Ability to work with Windows-based software + Ability to read and understand blueprints + Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats + Ability to read and comprehend purchase order and specification requirements + Ability to use and understanding of precision measuring tools + Ability to work with little direction or supervision + Ability to handle multiple projects at one time Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DoE) Security Clearance. Candidates must be willing and able to provide information necessary to verify eligibility and receive authorization to access Controlled Unclassified Information related to the U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Department of Energy programs.
