Quality Engineer

SUMMARY 

We are looking for an experienced quality engineer to join our team at our Bayport, Minnesota facility, supporting the Andersen Aluminum product lines. Areas of focus include quality improvement, customer satisfaction, project support, and ensuring product

conformance to specification and performance standards. You will collaborate with team members in operations, supply chain, quality, logistics, engineering, and other departments to persuasively sell continuous improvement ideas.

 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Possess the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentDrive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem-solvingOwning the quality metrics of the responsible areaExperience with PDCA, A3, DOE, 5-Why, Fish Bone Diagram, Lean Sigma, DMAIC, preferred but not requiredExpertise in both using and coaching others in approachesStrong knowledge of quality management and lean manufacturing principlesDocument control, product and process qualification, and audit processesError Proofing, Eyes for Waste, Visual ManagementAbility to gather and analyze data through statistical techniques.Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards and convert them into manufacturing control plans and work instructions.Developing process validation plans and documenting resultsApproving engineering change requests or PLM’sLead cross-functional team meetings, kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions.Computer software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, can be used to analyze data and detect trends and abnormalities.Provides quality assurance support to ensure that the products produced are met with quality requirements defined by the company to both internal and external customers· 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 

 

BS degree in Engineering or TechnologyA minimum of 3 years of quality work experienceKnowledge of PFMEA, quality programs, SPC, process capability and lean manufacturing principlesWorking knowledge of measurement tools and systems

 

NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

ASQ Certifications - ASQ CSSGB (Certified Six Sigma Green Belt), ASQ CSSBB (Certified Six Sigma Black Belt), ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer)Functional AutoCAD skills and geometric tolerancing
