Description:

The quality engineer is responsible for supporting improvement of manufacturing processes and increasing production output. Duties include creating and maintaining quality standards and systems, creating processes and documentation that reports issues, and driving solutions.

Duties may include:

Responsible for supporting quality KPIs and plans for improving manufacturing qualitySupport manufacturing quality by developing and improving processes, procedures and training aligned with company and industry quality standardsDevelop and improve critical to quality methods to measure and produce manufacturing qualityImprove product quality by making recommendations for changes to designs and processesCollaborate with engineering and supply chain to develop and improve supplier qualityEnsure products adhere to company quality standards prior to shipmentsAssess manufacturing processes to develop plans to increase product quality and capabilityDevelop and implement a system to measure and ensure manufacturing conformance throughout the manufacturing processUse statistical techniques to track and continuously improve quality and predictabilityCollect data and generate quality reports for manufacturing and supply chain to identify areas of improvement

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) and 3+ years relevant experience in product manufacturing and quality engineering (hardware based product and industry ideally)Strong understanding of QMS, and developing and improving policies and SOPsStrong knowledge of NPI quality requirementsExtensive experience using various quality tools (FAI, PPAP, 6S, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, etc.)Proficiency using statistical tools (JMP, Matlab, Tableau, SPC for Excel, etc) Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to work efficiently in a team environment as well drive projects/tasks independentlyExperience within lean manufacturing is a bonus
