Quality Engineer
Job Title: Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer will split their time between the office and the production floor (approximately 50/50). Daily responsibilities include communicating with production teams to understand the quality status of ongoing projects. The role focuses on root cause analysis and developing inspection reports. Key Responsibilities: o Investigate production quality issues o Investigate supplier quality issues o Direct investigations – work with other labor to have them find data and report back to QE. o Will have relationship with suppliers, but will not be the primary point of contact (Quality Assistant would do NCRs). QEs relationship would be surrounding route cause analysis and problem solving issues. o Lead and facilitate 8D investigations or Route Cause Analysis o Work with PPAPs to review data and packages. Signs off on PPAPs. Will not be creating the packages. o Document change control – specifically documentation and signing off on RFCs (Request for changes) o SOPs – Review documentation and sign off for approval. May at times need to create SOPs. o Primary individual responsible for developing inspection documents. o Containment activities for materials. o Communicate with production, engineering, finance/procurement at a company level and within value steam will communicate with – production, process engineering and buyers/planners to determine quality of processes/products, etc. Hard Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering + 2+ years of engineering experience (Quality, Manufacturing, or Process) + Exposure to Continuous Improvement + Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Cadillac, Michigan. Work Environment Flexible starting hours between 7-8am. Work a 9-80 schedule, so employees get every other Friday off.
