OSITION SUMMARY:

To provide leadership in Quality Assurance by ensuring that the company meets or exceeds customer requirements by developing, improving and maintaining a consistent methodology for compliance and continuous improvement. Focus areas include the Management of Quality Business System, Production Quality, Supplier Quality, and Continuous Improvement Processes. This position reports to the Quality Manager and is focused on the Orion Product line and extensions.

As the Quality Engineer, you will lead Quality Assurance efforts to exceed customer requirements, focusing on compliance and continuous improvement for the Orion Product line and its extensions. Under the guidance of the Quality Manager, you will span the Management of Quality Business Systems, Production Quality, Supplier Quality, and Continuous Improvement Processes.

You Will:

Lead customer quality programs by managing root cause analysis, corrective actions, and professional customer communications.

Track, trend, and report on customer quality issues, ensuring global resolution and elevating customer interaction standards.

Partner with site teams to share best practices in Production, Supplier Quality Management, Regulatory Compliance, and New Product Development (NPD).

Use RCCA tracking to maintain a credible corrective action process and ensure global resolution of main quality issues.

Maintain control over the MRB process and non-conforming materials, implementing error-proofing measures and layered product audits.

Provide feedback to suppliers for quality improvement and collaborate with corporate supplier quality teams to identify improvement opportunities.

Support audit activities (customer, agency, internal) and maintain site certifications.

Lead the quality aspect of the NPD process, ensuring the qualification and development of new products meet production standards.

Advance quality tools such as RCCA, PPAP, Gage R&R, SPC, and process controls, ensuring data integrity and reporting.

Provide expertise in extrusion, molding, welding, and best practices for the Orion Product line, supporting customer, supplier, and regulatory needs.

You Have:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with expertise in Total Quality concepts and project management.

Previous management experience in a manufacturing setting.

Expertise in plastics production (extrusion, molding, welding) and New Product Development processes.

Prior experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and advanced analytical techniques.

Comprehensive knowledge of lean Six Sigma and quality principles.

Proficiency with AutoCAD or other design software, basic metrology, and calibration.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
