Job Description
In this role, the individual will be in a hands-on role and act as a quality leader. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with standards, refining control plans, assisting with new product development, and overseeing quality plans. There will also be a focus on improvement projects.
ResponsibilitiesManage the plant-wide cross-functional corrective action system and ensure projects are completed on time.Determine the acceptability of products according to specified acceptance and rejection criteria.Lead the development and system implementation to ensure product conformance to specifications.Provide input and support to in-process inspection processes and staff, specification control, and product audits.Continuously review and improve inspection and audit processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.Facilitate, coach, and mentor teams within the organization to execute changes and improvements to the quality process.Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to resolve internal and external quality issues.Provide support and training to manufacturing and assist in data collection to troubleshoot problems.Participate in and/or lead continuous improvement teams.Assist in the development and review of procedures and work instructions.Facilitate the development of product specifications, procedures, and test methods as required.Maintain testing equipment and research and purchase new manufacturing test and inspection technology.Interact with customers for complaint resolution.Participate in customer and certification audits.Travel as necessary (up to 25%).Support and adhere to all system procedures and company policies/procedures.Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety regulations.Essential SkillsQuality engineering experienceKnowledge of ISO 9001 standardsExperience with SQF standardsBachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or industrial disciplines5 years of quality engineering experienceExperience mentoring and leading groups of people5 years of experience with ISO 9001 and SQF standards and requirements5 years of experience in a high-volume, high-speed automation environmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsAutomation backgroundExperience with automated production floorsExperience working in a clean environmentWork Environment
This is a hands-on role working with 16 inspectors across 4 shifts, a quality technician, and process engineers. The primary shift is 7am-4pm, but flexibility is required to assist during off-shifts as needed. The work environment is highly automated and clean, promoting safety and compliance.
