Quality Engineer

Description:

Supplier Audit and Supplier Approval

Audit planning for new or critical supplier or new products / processes

Audit execution to assess the quality capability of suppliers in coordination with purchasing, logistics and development

Assessment of the results, preparation of measurement plans, requesting and monitoring of action plans

Communication with the supplier

Purchasing part and process qualification & approval

Responsible for process and purchased part qualification and approval at the supplier

Integration into projects for new component and trucks developments (quality requirements)

Planning of initial sample tests - Coordination of requirements and content with engineering and suppliers.

Carry out on-site inspections and approvals at suppliers.

Assessment of the results & deviations – make approval decisions

Collection of documents, proofs and initial sample inspection reports from suppliers

Initiate the WE inspection planning as an excerpt from the initial sample inspection

Problem solving for purchase quality

Work with suppliers to improve overall component quality and drive improvements to their quality systems and the manufacturing processes

Initiate qualifications programs at suppliers and trace degree of fulfillment

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications:

+5 years of supplier quality engineering experience within manufacturing environments (Automotive preferred)

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (highly preferred)

Knowledge of PPAP procedure and additional quality tools like APQP, FMEA and experienced in quality management systems ISO 9001 & TS 16949

5+ years of experience in supplier qualification programs and supplier process improvements (preferable Automotive industry)

Technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical components.

Special quality trainings (Poka Yoke, 8D, QFD preferable)
