Primary Responsibilities

 

Responsible for the daily tactical support of manufacturing product conformance to specified requirements through quality controls such as Control Plans and Inspection Instructions. Implementing containment actions for major Non-Conformances ensuring impact to production is minimal. Participate in development activities to pro-actively improve product/processes and prevent nonconforming product. Provide performance metrics, analysis, and input for the Quality function to other departments. Issue, review and verify corrective actions for effectiveness to prevent reoccurrences. Use the warranty and NCP system for review, analysis, and management of defective product. Support the use of statistics for product improvement and process control (CP,Cpk)

 

Qualifications

 

Four year college degree or two year college degree with 3 years’ experience and or American Society of Quality (ASQ) (or equivalent) Certified Quality Engineer certification.  This position requires an individual with strong communication skills and ability to participate with teams.  Computer literacy, word processing skills (MS Word) and spreadsheet skills (MS Excel) is needed for this position. Certain technical skills and training, such as ; quality tools and techniques, ability to read and understand engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), problem solving skills (8D), process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC) are desired.  Good communication skills, the ability to work effectively with people and the personal drive/sense of urgency necessary to provide needed support in the time frames demanded is required.  An individual with the flexibility and freedom to travel (Up to 25% travel).
