Job Description
This role is pivotal to the future of the Quality Department, overseeing quality processes in the manufacturing of aerosol and spray products. The Quality Engineer will ensure quality across labs and production, analyze error rates, identify root causes, and generate solutions. They will lead and drive implementation, validate new equipment, and work cross-functionally to meet customer needs and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and demonstrate safe work practices, ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with company policies and procedures.Create and maintain a positive, respectful environment free from intimidation and harassment.Contribute to and improve Key Performance Indicators including safety, quality, production, cost, and lean implementation.Coach, mentor, select, and train on Quality Processes, systems, SOPs, work instructions, and test protocols.Support root cause investigations and corrective actions regarding quality issues.Champion the upkeep and programming of GainSeeker S.P.C. software and installation of measurement devices.Promote the use of problem-solving techniques such as DMAIC, D.O.E, FMEA, 5 Why’s, and Pareto Diagrams.Effectively communicate with other supervisors to ensure timely completion of CAPA and complaint forms.Manage calibration logs, verification, and servicing of QA lab and shop floor equipment.Create or revise SOPs, work instructions, IQ, OQ, & PQ protocols, and control plans.Approve and issue GainSeeker S.P.C. templates and QC in-process documentation.Analyze and test products using instruments such as pH meters, analytical scales, moisture balances, and spectrophotometers.Facilitate timely testing of outsourced products.Perform data analysis and report building.Lead quality validation efforts for new processes, equipment, and upgrades.Support other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsIndependent work ethic with examples of driving results.Lean Six Sigma Experience in root cause analyses and CAPAs.Manufacturing industry experience.Scientific knowledge and equipment validation.Quality management and investigations.Proficiency with Lean manufacturing tools and practices including 5S, SIPOC.Proficient with MS products and QE software such as Minitab and GainSeeker SPC.Working knowledge of inventory management systems such as SAP.Excellent problem-solving skills including 5 Why, Fault tree, and FMEA.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to comprehend and follow operating masters, SOPs, BOMs, and test procedures.Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Track record of leading small cross-functional corrective action groups.Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related science preferred but not required if experience is relevant.3-5 years of experience in a quality manufacturing setting.Desire to lead and influence others, with potential for a formal management role.Work Environment
20% normal office environment and 80% manufacturing environment.
