Quality Engineer
Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support a government contractor and client in Columbus, OH. You will be working in an automotive manufacturing environment, supporting contracts from the US Government and commercial clients to develop, design, and integrate unique solutions for up-armored commercial vehicles (Toyota Land Cruisers, Ford Expeditions, etc.), associated equipment, mission payloads, and tactical tools. You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary teams formed around each project. This client produces around 200 vehicles per year.

The role involves ensuring project compliance with Quality Systems (QS) and applicable standards/regulations through the review and approval of key project documents, contributing to Quality Assurance (QA) program development, monitoring and execution, and supporting the resolution of exceptions. Additionally, you will facilitate and support continuous improvement within the businesses you oversee.

ResponsibilitiesContribute to group QS conformance and lead project QS conformanceContribute to QA program development, monitoring, and executionEnsure project conformance to external and customer requirementsEnsure design conformance to requirementsContribute to risk management activities both on projects and within the QSSupport vehicle inspection planning and appraisalOversee Nonconformance and CAPA program, facilitating containment, investigation, disposition, correction, corrective/preventive action, and effectiveness verificationSupport vehicle design and manufacturing teamsLead or support continuous improvement efforts to reduce the cost of execution, cost of compliance, and cost of quality for the organizationEssential SkillsExperience in quality engineering, automotive quality, and root cause analysisFamiliarity with Quality Engineering tools such as Process Mapping and Root Cause AnalysisExperience in an engineering capacity within a related industryBachelor's degree in science or a related field with at least two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsTwo or more years of experience in the automotive industryLean Six Sigma, CQE, or equivalent certificationQualified Internal Auditor ISO 9001 preferredExperience leading continuous improvement effortsFamiliarity with more complex Quality Engineering tools such as Risk Management, Tracking and Trending of Quality Data, Acceptance Sampling, and Method DevelopmentWorking knowledge of Windchill PLM, IQVIA Pilgrim SmartSolve, and Deltek CostpointAbility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance depending on the area of supportWork Environment

You will be working in a team-based environment, collaborating with Program Managers, Engineers, Designers, Technicians, and other disciplines. The work environment includes exposure to all automotive systems across many diverse projects.

The position offers a 9/80 schedule with core hours from 8 AM to 3:00/4:00 PM, and the possibility of remote work on Fridays after proven performance.

The facilities cover 130,000 sq ft and include production, engineering and planning, logistics/inspection, and an engineering technology center.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00
