Quality Engineer
Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to support both supplier and in-house manufacturing activities related to quality assurance. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with design criteria, quality standards, and production requirements for parts and equipment used in the manufacturing of aircraft engine components. This role involves collaboration with the design team in Japan, and requires strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Responsibilities + Provide supplier support and in-house manufacturing support for quality-related activities. + Review completed product final inspection sheets and special process documentation for acceptability. + Support non-conforming part related investigations (NCMR) and review with engineering. + Facilitate corrective action and preventative action processes both internally and with the supply base. + Conduct design change investigation support for manufacturing and supplier-related activities. + Review processes such as Routers, FMEA, operation standards, process control sheets, and other control documentation to ensure design requirements are met. + Lead supplier audits (when certified) to AS9100 and specific customer requirements. Essential Skills + Experience with work instruction, manufacturing process, root cause analysis, and CMM inspection. + Proficiency in managing non-conforming parts and implementing corrective and preventive actions. + Experience with change investigations and FMEA processes. + In-depth knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standard requirements. + Ability to use photos and data to communicate effectively with the design team in Japan. + Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. + Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, etc.) or related Associate's degree with experience. + Three years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, or seven years without a BS degree. + Proficiency in GD&T and lean manufacturing within the aerospace industry. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). + Experience with CAD/CATIA. + Working knowledge of gauging, calibration, GD&T, and CMM. + Experience in product nonconformance dispositions (MRB) and product First Article review and approval is a plus. Work Environment This role operates within a climate-controlled office environment, with occasional exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and safety shoes are required. The position requires less than 15% travel.
