Description
Manage daily requests for support solving issues and utilize Red X Tools to root cause. Develop quick containments with robust long term solutions to different problems. Present the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff with clear problem definition and technical guidance on complex problems. Support Launch of new products in the plant. Manage Supplier Quality problems as they arise and work with issues using the PRR process to document and resolve.
Scope of Responsibilities:
\tDevelop quality standards and procedures for the plant.
\tManage multiple projects with broad scope and high degree of difficulty.
\tGenerate unique technical solutions utilizing 7 Diamonds Process, Red X and other tools as applicable.
\tAssist production in prevention of defect occurrence and recommend process changes.
\tWork with Launch Team on new vehicle builds. Support IRT Co-Chairs as necessary and transition commodities into the team as launch progresses into saleable builds.
\tWork with suppliers to address PRR’s issued and ensure robust countermeasures.
\tWork with suppliers and engineering to develop inspection standards for parts and subassemblies.
\tShare Lessons Learned with Engineering to prevent repeat design or build issues.
\tReview of nonconforming parts and sub-assemblies for proper initial disposition and root cause follow-up.
\tCoordinate periodic system and process audits at the plant and at suppliers.
\tCoordinate quality evaluation of new vehicles with engineering and production.
\tCoordinate engineering change implementation.
\tEvaluate employee suggestions.
\tIssue technical reports and make presentations to management.
\tWork Off-Shifts as required.
\tDomestic and Global Travel as required.

Must Haves:
\tDegree in Engineering or equivalent experience
\tDemonstrated ability to attain results, while balancing technical solutions with business imperatives.
\tSolid analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems.
\tGenerate technical solutions utilizing 7 Diamonds, Red X, DFMEA Tools and others as applicable.
\tMust excel at problem solving – root cause, containment, robust long term solutions.
\tExercises independent judgment in managing complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal input from supervisor.
\tUnderstanding of lean concepts.
\tThorough understanding and capacity to effectively operate in all areas of the plant production process.
\tEffective communicator with solid oral and written presentation skills.
Nice to have:
\tAdvanced degree in Engineering.
\tFamiliar with 7-diamond process.
\tRed X Journeyman Certification.
\tGood understanding of SPC.
\tEngineering Work Order (EWO)/Parts Release familiarity.
\tFamiliar with pulling prints, reading drawings, Vismoc, GDIS, GSIP, GQTS, PRTS, PADs, Gage Strategies.
\tSupplier audit experience.
\tKnowledge of PPAP requirements.
\tProduction Group Leader Experience.
\tCertified Quality Engineer.

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $40.00
