Quality Engineer

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or science from an accredited institution. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

    Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred in the following disciplines: Mechanical, Material Science, or Manufacturing Engineering. Minimum of 3 months experience working in an internship or co-op capacity in a manufacturing or lab environment. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.  Working knowledge of quality systems and requirements and how they relate to business (i.e. AS9100, NADCAP).  Demonstrated proficiency in Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis and suiting methodology.  Demonstrated use of structured problem-solving methods (i.e. 8D)  Experience with APQP and PPAP is desirable. ASQ, CQA, and/or CQE preferred. Experience in aerospace or automotive. Excellent PC skills, written and verbal communication skills. Must work well in a team environment and commit to continuous improvement.

 

Howmet is a world leader in the investment casting industry and is a leading supplier of superalloys, aluminum, and titanium components for aerospace, automotive, and commercial transportation applications.  Our Wichita Falls location is on the front edge of the rapid growth in the aerospace and turbine industries.                              Nestled halfway between Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, our facility in Wichita Falls supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.   This position is responsible for the quality, from purchase order to ship, of superalloy castings produced at our facility and will resolve manufacturing & shipment issues relative to customer specifications. Support the administration of quality manuals, continuous improvement initiatives & interaction with business center personnel on quality initiatives. Conceives, evaluates and implements Root cause analysis & corrective/preventative action determined as appropriate.   Tasks include developing and initiating standards and methods of inspection, testing and evaluation, inspecting to ensure that critical and complex aerospace components meet all customer specifications and blueprint requirements while implementing Cost reduction initiatives and part/process improvement activities.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   External customer escapes Investigates and analyzes root cause. Develops and implements correction and preventative action plans to include mistake proof solutions. Periodic Qualification and Re-qualification Prepares L/O and MRB forms and additional support data to customer. Develops VSE/ESA requirements. Quality Audits Formulates, performs and validates quality system and part audits. Process Certification Defines and implements control plans and FMEA per customer requirements. Collects, analyzes and prepares statistical data per control plan. Quote Prep Reviews BOM and routing, Customer and Industry Specifications and B/P.     Part Shipment Obtain certification as a customer release agent as required.
