Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to monitor and improve production assembly processes, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and our Quality Management System. You will collaborate with a range of personnel including Engineers, Manufacturing staff, management, and U.S. Government representatives. This role involves establishing inspection plans, providing engineering assistance for lot acceptance tests, writing detailed work instructions, and conducting quality audits.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor production assembly processes with a focus on improving efficiency.Participate in production team meetings to drive continuous improvement.Establish and monitor inspection plans based on customer acceptance criteria.Ensure compliance with customer requirements and the Quality Management System.Provide engineering assistance for lot acceptance test requirements.Write and incorporate detailed work instructions.Plan and conduct quality audits, conveying findings through formal reports.Manage internal audits and support day-to-day operations with quality inspectors.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in quality engineering.Experience with ISO 9001 standards.Proficiency in corrective action plans, control plans, and GD&T.Familiarity with the defense industry and U.S. government compliance.Experience dealing with DoD/Military entities.Comfortable with inspections in a shop floor/assembly environment.Ability to manage internal audits and support quality inspectors.Strong communication and organizational skills.Hands-on, ambitious, and able to think quickly in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with munitions and firearms.Understanding of military standards and specifications.Experience with reject verification.Familiarity with PPAP, quality assurance, first article inspection, Minitab, and root cause analysis.Relevant experience is key; a four-year degree is not necessary.Work Environment
The work schedule is from 7am-5pm with an hour lunch, comprising four nine-hour days and an eight-hour Friday (7am-4pm). Every other Friday is off, and flexible hours within an hour each way are allowed as long as consistency is maintained. Travel is rare but may occur for supplier issues or offsite testing, typically up to one week every 2-4 months. The work environment is clean, with a growth mindset that offers opportunities for career advancement. Additional benefits include tuition reimbursement. The team regularly collaborates with Inspectors, Manufacturing, and the Supplier Quality Engineering team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00
