The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and will be responsible to work with all departments in a hands-on role to ensure continuous production of products consistent with customer specifications and expectations.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Lead ITW Deltar Fasteners team in containing, analyzing, and solving customer issues.
+ Serve as primary liaison between ITW Deltar Fasteners and the customer.
+ Participate in APQP process and development of internal production documentation.
+ Lead supplier evaluation, audits, and DMN (Defective Material Notification) processes.
+ Complete quality documentation (blue packet) for part transfers between suppliers and ITW.
+ Contribute to internal audit program and provide support for IATF, ISO, and customer audits.
+ CSR (Customer Specific Requirements) review/implementation
+ Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Respond to various customer surveys, requests, and inquiries.
+ Develop systems and provide training for manufacturing personnel.
+ Remain current with customer required quality system procedures, policies, manuals, and subscriptions.
+ Review manuals, procedures, work instructions, forms and quality system for compliance to current automotive standards and customer requirements (i.e. AIAG, IATF, ISO).
+ Monitor quality performance goals.
+ Participate in surveillance of suppliers’ manufacturing process.
+ Disposition of suspect/rejected product.
+ Oversee check fixture design, fabrication, and verification.
+ Manage and/or assist with annual PPAP, layout, and functional program.
+ Other tasks and duties as assigned.

+ Bachelor's degree in Quality Management/Business/Engineering or equivalent work experience
+ 2-3 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment or similar position
+ 1-2 years’ experience in the plastics industry
+ Strong aptitude for problem resolution and root cause analysis
+ Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to exercise sound judgment
+ Experience with root cause analysis, SPC knowledge, technically able to utilize measuring equipment and gauges
+ Independent and organized work style; effective time management; able to prioritize work load, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines
+ Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint…)
+ Comfortable with customer interaction
+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with team members, managers, co-workers and customers
+ Project management skills
+ Flexible schedule needed to meet customer demands
+ Willing and able to travel
+ Must be eligible for employment in the United States
