Quality Engineer
Job Description: Quality Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all quality-related issues, handling customer calls, and overseeing APQP, PPAPs, quality audits, and re-certification for ISO/IATF.

ResponsibilitiesAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and rules.Promote a safety awareness and commitment at all times.Maintain confidentiality of information received, created, or processed.Lead in the development and maintenance of quality documentation and records. Maintain IATF/ISO document control.Prepare reports on quality findings, including non-conformance reports, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.Maintain and calculate various metrics.Create PPAP documentation and participate in the APQP process.Submit annual documentation.Record and maintain detailed inspection and testing data.Monitor and control the quality of production processes and products.Identify and analyze quality issues and deviations and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.Perform internal audits of the IATF/ISO Management System. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.Conduct root cause analyses and corrective action for internal and external rejections.Manage testing equipment and gages to ensure calibrations are completed and compliant.Perform routine and non-routine inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products according to established standards and procedures.Utilize precision measuring instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy.Perform capability studies.Work closely with production and engineering teams to address quality concerns and implement improvements.Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements based on inspection results and industry best practices.Assist in training production staff on quality standards and procedures.Provide support during internal and external quality audits.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality enhancement strategies.Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques to ensure the implementation of best practices.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.Essential SkillsProficiency in APQP, PPAP, ISO 9001, quality engineering, auditing, and supplier quality.At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering around metal manufacturing or metal stamping.At least 5 years of experience with PPAPs and APQP.At least 5 years of experience with ISO/IATF re-certification.At least 5 years of supplier quality experience.Associate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.Work Environment

The department consists of two people, including this role and a process engineer who will provide team support within the QMS system. The work schedule follows a 4-day, 10-hour shift from Monday to Thursday. The first shift runs from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and the second shift runs from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
