Quality Engineer

Quality Control Specialist with 5 years of machine shop experience, focusing on creating inspection criteria, GD&T, metrology, and ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 standards.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of quality control experience in a machine shop environment. Expertise in GD&T and metrology. Proficiency in creating inspection criteria and using inspection methods. Experience with ISO 13485 / FDA 21CFR820 (preferred but not required). Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and follow assembly instructions. Proficient in machine shop precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, height stands, thread gauges, dial indicators, gauge pins, radius gauges, optical comparators, and vision machines). Experience with SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel (preferred). Knowledge of Gage R&R and PPAP processes. Familiarity with quality systems and contractual quality requirements.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in validation processes and CAPA investigations. Strong understanding of documentation control and record-keeping practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and establish inspection criteria for new and existing products using SolidWorks Inspection and Excel. Ensure inspection methods meet customer and internal requirements. Act as a liaison between Quality Control and project engineers to verify inspection process capabilities. Review drawings during the quote process to assess inspection feasibility. Ensure measurement methods are consistent with available gauging equipment. Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing engineering, and programming teams for effective planning processes. Participate in engineering change processes, updating inspection criteria as necessary. Support prototype activities and perform quality inspections for new products. Coordinate part and product approval processes with internal teams and customers. Conduct Gage R&R and manage PPAP processes. Investigate and evaluate issues arising during audits and resolve through CAPAs. Maintain compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA documentation requirements. Evaluate and update quality and inspection documents based on ECNs. Complete non-conformance evaluation for gauges found out of calibration.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
