Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Quality Engineer to join our team. This position requires a broad range of QMS knowledge using ISO, APQP, PPAP & ISIR fundamentals combined with customer-driven compliance stipulations applied to machining, welding, and assembly components. This is a highly collaborative position interfacing with customers, vendors, fellow employees, and certification auditors.

ResponsibilitiesLead ISO audits ensuring internal compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, both surveillance and recertification.Understand all elements encompassing a customer audit process.Handle PPAP submittal procedures.Utilize quality metrology equipment including hand-held gages, CMMs, and Faro arms.Support quoting activities by reviewing customer data for manufacturability considerations using APQP guidelines.Provide production technical assistance to identify, assess, and resolve manufacturing challenges.Work with outside laboratories to obtain data used to validate processes or ensure ongoing quality parameters.Perform vendor audits remotely or on-site, both initial and surveillance.Comprehend GD&T applied to machined and fabricated parts, from APQP through manufacturing operations, and train employees in GD&T fundamentals.Define and deploy internal process controls to assure product compliance by identifying product quality requirements from customer stipulations, specifications, and standards.Exercise strong business acumen for high-level decision making through influential leadership to align strategic planning and manufacturing strategies with company expectations and fiscal objectives.Adapt and be flexible through critical thinking and problem solving to best meet the needs of the business as well as customer expectations.Manage multiple projects and prioritize work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrate outstanding organizational, verbal/written communication skills with attention to detail.Use MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with Epicor ERP a plus.Travel as needed, with the ability to travel internationally a plus.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field plus 10 years of work experience in a quality engineer role.Internal auditor experience preferred.CQE certification is a plus.Experience in ISO 9001:2015 standard audits.In-depth understanding of customer audit processes.Experience with PPAP submittal procedures.Knowledge of quality metrology equipment, including hand-held gages, CMMs, and Faro arms.Experience with GD&T applied to machined and fabricated parts.Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Experience with Epicor ERP is a plus.Some travel required; ability to travel internationally is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsApplication of quality engineering fundamentals in a low to mid-volume job shop environment.Complete understanding of a QMS system for risk management containment and customer satisfaction including ISO, ISIR, PPAP, APQP, 8D, Warrants, sustainment planning, material compliance/certification, and product traceability.In-depth experience with metals and material grades, specifically carbon steel, and application of mill tolerances and material grades to ensure customer specifications are achieved. Experience with rubber products is a plus.Demonstrated experience with GD&T to define customer intent and product quality requirements.Supply chain management technical support.Experience with corrective action implementation through 8D methodology and root cause analysis.Application of statistical analysis methodologies through SPC to achieve improved process control and to identify trends and potential quality issues.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.Mentoring fellow employees to explain customer tolerances and compliance requirements.Use of online customer platforms to analyze quality metrics, retrieve part specifications/standards, and upload part manufacturing data and documentation.Working knowledge of AWS and general weld quality requirements is a plus.Familiarity with agricultural equipment is a plus.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00
