Job Description
A developer that designs and manufactures Stirling engines and free-piston machines for power generation and cryogenic coolers seeks a Quality Engineer. This position is responsible for supporting the Quality Management System (QMS) as it directly relates to Spaceflight Cryocooler Production and Engineering by ensuring compliance with production and documentation control. The role also involves writing and revising process documents and work instructions for Spaceflight Cryocooler production tasks, processes, and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesComply with all company policies and procedures.Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of the AMT Quality Management System.Work closely with the Spaceflight Cryocooler Build Engineer and Technicians to create project-specific production control documentation such as routings, process documents, and test procedures.Facilitate the review and approval of all project-based documentation through the Configuration Control Board.Administer production control of Spaceflight Cryocooler hardware, including delivering necessary documentation and hardware to the production floor and ensuring documentation has been completed properly.Maintain control of bonded-storage inventory.Collect documentation for and organize end item data packages in line with customer needs and quality standards.Collect, organize, and maintain project-based electronic inspection data.Serve as a member of the Quality Internal Audit Team, auditing spaceflight procedures in accordance with approved quality documentation.Support efforts to maintain ISO 9001 Certification and achieve AS9100 Certification.Initiate non-conforming material coordination and resolution processes, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and interfacing with external customers to resolve quality issues.Work with program management to evaluate the scope of customer-specific quality requirements and develop specific Quality Assurance Program Plans as needed.Serve as the primary interface with customer’s quality representatives.Participate in customer-specific contract and product design reviews.Determine and implement quality improvement factors, including continuous improvement product and process systems.Work in accordance with deadlines for the delivery of products.Provide weekly status updates to the Quality/EHS Manager.Essential SkillsExperience with Corrective/Preventative Action processRoot Cause AnalysisGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Quality documentation and process flowReading blueprintsAerospace engineeringManufacturing engineeringThermodynamicsISO standardsAdditional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial SystemsWork Environment
The work environment involves working closely with engineers and technicians on the production floor. The role requires adherence to deadlines for product delivery and maintaining detailed records within the quality management system. The position supports efforts to maintain ISO 9001 Certification and achieve AS9100 Certification, and involves interfacing with customer quality representatives.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27
