Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of quality, including customer quality, supplier quality, and internal product quality, with a heavy focus on product development. This role involves developing quality systems, tooling development, creating and submitting PPAPs, supporting internal production operations, conducting root cause analysis and problem solving for defect elimination, and statistical analysis to determine capabilities. The Quality Engineer will also support supplier quality engineering, manage appearance approval report processes, and support both pre-launch and post-launch activities. This position requires up to 15% travel to customers and suppliers to address quality concerns.

ResponsibilitiesSupport New Product Development.Perform quality function assignments during product design input and design output processes.Develop, use, and maintain APQP quality documents such as PFMEA, Process Flow/Control Plan, Quality Inspection Standards, etc.Ensure quality plans comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.Review, interpret, and communicate technical drawings and other technical information.Utilize Measurement Systems Analysis techniques to qualify gages, fixtures, and metrology equipment.Conduct statistical analysis to determine process normality and capability.Ensure compliance with unique customer-specific quality requirements throughout the product development cycle.Assemble and submit PPAP information at pre-launch and for post-launch changes.Perform and oversee safe launch containment inspections and determine corrective actions.Provide training and support to on-site quality liaisons at customer facilities for new products.Develop and maintain positive relationships with external customers.React immediately to customer quality concerns and escalate issues as needed.Travel to customer locations to support containment, investigation, and presentation of corrective actions.Analyze customer warranty data to apply corrective actions.Support internal plant operations to produce high-quality products.Develop, maintain, and perform internal Layered Process Audits and analyze findings.Participate in customer, internal quality, supplier quality, and IATF/ISO audits.Engage in continuous improvement activities to enhance work methods and operational efficiency.Use industry-standard metrology equipment for qualification and calibration.Provide guidance to quality inspectors and technicians.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of Quality Engineering experience within an automotive environment.Proficiency in quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, and FMEA.Experience with Statistical Process Control and Measurement Systems Analysis.Experience with IATF or ISO 9001 standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified IATF or ISO 9001 auditor.Experience with Mini Tab for statistical analysis.Work Environment

The position is based at the Vicksburg plant, which is a flagship location in the USA. The work environment includes working both on the production floor (50-60%) and at a desk (40-50%). The standard workweek is approximately 45 hours, which may increase to 50 hours during launches and issue resolution. Start times range from 7:00 to 7:30 AM. The plant focuses on plastic injection molding for automotive interior systems and offers opportunities for talent growth. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.86/hr.
