Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer who will establish work instructions and standard operating procedures for manufacturing processes. The role involves developing and initiating standards and procedures for testing, evaluating, and inspecting products. You will create first piece and in-process inspection forms, train team members on quality control, and assist the Plant Manager and Production Cell Supervisors in maintaining compliance with ISO-9001 quality standards.

ResponsibilitiesEstablish work instructions and standard operating procedures for manufacturing processes.Develop and initiate standards and procedures for testing, evaluating, and inspecting products.Create first piece and in-process inspection forms to be used on the shop floor based on key features established on the blueprints.Create training material and conduct training on quality control.Assist Plant Manager and Production Cell Supervisors in training team members regarding first piece inspection and quality standards of all products in compliance with ISO-9001 quality standards.Direct and monitor team members in measuring and testing products.Create and compile data for quality reports.Train and mentor Quality Inspectors on equipment operations, manufacturing processes, quality standards and safety rules. Monitor performance and provide guidance in meeting position expectations.Communicate with various departments to maintain the highest quality products.Perform incoming and in-process inspection as needed.Perform shop audits.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsQuality engineeringISO 9001Quality improvementFirst article inspectionCAPAManufacturing quality experienceShop floor auditingRoot cause analysisAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering or a related field preferred.At least 2-3 years of direct industry experience.Knowledge of ISO 9000 family of quality management system standards.Ability to read blueprints.Proficiency in using and reading a tape measure, caliper, micrometer, hardness tester, and other quality control equipment.Proficiency in Microsoft suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.Work Environment

This position reports into the Quality Manager in IL, with a dotted line reporting into the local Plant Manager. It is a hands-on role requiring direct support of the assembly operation. The environment is a close-knit, family-like culture with low attrition and strong growth prospects. The company recently hired 40 new employees and is currently in expansion mode.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr.
