Quality Engineer

 Job Summary:                                                                                                                               FLSA Status: Exempt

Responsible for supporting the Quality Department in the plan, coordination, and execution of quality control activities to assure that the operation delivers Chemical Processing, Paint, Shot Peening, NDT and Masking functions that meet all company and customer Quality requirements.

Essential Functions:

 

Works with Quality and Operations teams to maintain 3rd party accreditations (NADCAP/AS9100 Rev D), to include process documentation, updates and audit preparation and participation.Interpret customer drawing, specifications and contract requirements to develop and implement quality plans and inspectionMaintain professional and technical knowledgeConduct part specific quality planning of PO/NPI in accordance with customer and company requirements.As part of Contract Review process ensure that customer supplied specifications match Alloy Processing operational capabilities.Support the review of router/traveler instructions to ensure they meet company and customer contract requirements, internal procedures, and specifications.Review customer quality complaints to determine appropriate corrective actions and implement sustainable corrective actions.Reviews and evaluates in-process rejections, obtains disposition and implements corrective action as neededInterface with customers, vendors and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide informationWork proactively with Operations to determine root cause and corrective action on all internal non-conformances.Submit non-conformance to customer and negotiate dispositionProactively engage with Operations department to minimize rework and escapesAssist in internal and external auditsMust have demonstrated the ability to interpret variety of technical instructions to define problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Must have demonstrated the ability to effectively communicate and present reports throughout all levels of an organization and various levels of customer organizations.Provides technical support to operation departments as neededOther duties as assigned within the Quality dept.

 Requirements:

BA or BS degree in related field or minimum of 2 years related experience and trainingPrior Experience using Root Cause & Analysis, Problem Solving Tools & Techniques, and Corrective ActionsAS 9100 and NADCAP SE and CP quality standards experienceExperience with Internal and Customer Audits, OEM Boeing, Bombardier, Gulfstream, AirbusProficient in Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel, and CATIAStrong knowledge of special process; Shot Peening preferred
