In this role, you will develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation systems and procedures for processing materials into finished product. We look for you to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. You will devise and implement methods and procedures for producing, inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Areas of needed specialization include: validation, root cause analysis, statistical risk management, production control or product evaluation and reliability as they apply to product or process quality.
May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies. We look for you to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to settle appropriate action.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Provide manufacturing support activities to include validation projects (equipment, process or product), and/or involvement in improvement projects. Participate in continuous improvement activities to include leading, participating, or coaching project teams, facilitating events, or providing training. Provide technical support and guidance to other Kennebunk staff and/or project team members in Quality Systems improvement efforts. Lead and participate in project teams to quickly and effectively implement improvement initiatives or manufacturing process improvements. Apply quality engineering practices and guidance to support project teams and manufacturing operations using Six Sigma tools, FMEA, CE Diagram, CE Matrix, DOE, MSA, Validation Protocol development, review, approval and Control Plans. Develop innovative quality strategies and solutions for all phases of the manufacturing process. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications Develop/Revise Quality Plans including: incoming, in-process and final inspection, and provide training to those affected by the plans. Perform technical reviews and interprets data for accuracy of equipment/process performance. Provide proper technical review and risk assessment creation/review of requested changes to manufacturing or quality processes, suppliers and materials. Actively participates of GEMBA walks and provides input to resolve product quality issues and disposition product in a timely manner. Ensures CAPAs owned and assigned to different functional areas are completed in a timely manner and monitors effectiveness of corrective actions. Participates in MRB, reviews and/or completes nonconformance reports and SCAR documents to assure root cause analysis is reached and corrections are appropriate to prevent further nonconformances. Reviews and trends QS metrics and makes recommendations for corrective actions. Interfaces with Sales and Marketing relating to customer complaints, issues and questions. Manages the evaluation of products returned through the complaint system for to determine root cause of the issue and improvements where applicable. Coaches other Quality Engineers in statistical tools and lean/DMAIC processes to help achieve the goals of the department and the business. Leads complaint reviews to review customer complaint information for trends and recommend improvements. Participate in customer audits and visits as needed as a technical/quality representative where required. Serve as a resource for performing internal audits to ensure quality system compliance. Requirements B.S. or equivalent engineering or technical degree Minimum 6+ years progressively responsible roles in technology, engineering, manufacturing, quality and/or executing a quality engineering role. Working knowledge in Lean methodologies (Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, Kaizen Events, and Error-proofing) Deep knowledge of product quality architecture and how to translate the voice of the customer into a process or product that meets quality requirements and customer needs. Deep knowledge in New Product Introductions Problem Solving experience Experience in leading projects involving multiple groups (e.g. Technology, Operations, Engineering, Divisional functional teams, etc.) Knowledge of ERP/QMS platforms (e.g. SAP, ETQ, SharePoint, AIMS) Less than 5% travel required Desired Skills DMAIC Six Sigma certification Transactional (e.g. DESGN) Data Analysis Understanding of ISO13485

The range for this position is $90,614.00 - $124,595.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
