BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate / bachelor’s degree in quality, manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering. Minimum 1 year’s quality experience. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years’ experience in quality engineering in manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret procedures, standards, and specifications. Understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems. Excellent PC skills (proficient in Microsoft Office). Excellent Communication and Presentation skills (written, verbal and non- verbal). Certified ASQ CQE is desirable, or expected to be achieved within 1 year or hire Experience as an Internal Auditor is preferable. Experience with SAP is preferable. Must work well in a team environment and commit to continuous improvement.Essential Functions:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that our products and processes meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and performance. This role will involve analyzing and improving quality control processes, conducting inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality related issues.
Role and Responsibilities:
Interpret, understand, and comply with company quality management system. Develop and implement quality assurance strategies to maintain product and process quality. Review, approve, and maintain quality records provided by suppliers and outside service providers. Generate, review, approve, and maintain quality records related to quality testing, inspections, audits, and certifications. Monitor quality performance indicators and keep up with the cost of various quality metrics. Identify and resolve product defects, discrepancies, and inefficiencies in the production process. Participate in root cause analysis, and corrective and preventative action planning for quality issues. Participate in internal, customer, and accreditation audits. Review furnace operations logs and Heat Treat batches. Review non-confirming material and control processes. Collaborate with design, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are met through the product lifecycle. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications. Perform failure analysis and provide technical support for customer complaints and returns. Prioritize, manage time well, multi-task, and troubleshoot effectively and to work independently in a demanding environment. Support the development and implementation of testing protocols for new products. Review, approve, and maintain records of the quality activities and certifications generated internally or externally by suppliers. Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders regarding quality issues, ensuring effective communication and resolution. Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment. Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
