POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer is a critical role within the organization, working alongside our Operations and Engineering Teams. The Quality Engineer is the primary contact for the handling of major production issues and ensures that these issues are handled in an efficient, effective manner. The Quality Engineer also supports new product development projects through ownership of project tasks relevant for quality, and management of the project up to series release. Supports internal process and product audits and drives resulting actions to continuously improve product quality and quality management standards.
The Quality Engineer will take an active role in the Fortive Business System (FBS) to drive enhancements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Analytical and problem-solving skills as well as solid time-management, organizational, and multitasking skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, and coordinate all quality activities to assure optimum quality in all products manufactured and assembled at Dover Motion Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, to align quality objectives and ensure a shared understanding of requirements Support the planning and execution of internal, customer, and registrar audits Define actions or countermeasures arising from internal and external audits and ensure their timely implementation Develop and maintain quality plan for existing and new products, in collaboration with operations and engineering teams Lead and coordinate efforts to address internal and external quality concerns by driving cross functional teams to determine root cause and implement permanent corrective actions Work with RMA Service Technician and manufacturing engineering to diagnose customer RMAs, including the definition of countermeasures, handling of relevant communication, and reporting in the appropriate or required formats (e.g. 8D) Process Improvements Support Qualification and Validation activities Assist in developing FMEAs for manufacturing processes and new products. Provide Quality leadership to the manufacturing team to ensure customer and quality expectations are met Ensure process compliance to ISO 9001:2015 standardsQUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills/Experience:
Three to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of quality tools and techniques, including IQ/OQ/PQ, FMEA, PPAP, GR&R. Kaizen and/or Lean Manufacturing experience Strong familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, including auditing experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Highly motivated, comfortable in a fast-paced team environment Must be detail oriented, well organized and able to prioritize multiple projects. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skillsEducation
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a technical discipline; Engineering discipline from a four-year University preferred.TRAVEL: <5% of overnight travel required for the position
