This Quality Engineer will support the SLS Stages Element of the MSMAS contract located at Kennedy Space Center, FL.\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:\n
\n\nTechnically responsible for interpreting, organizing, and coordinating assignments; plans and develops SMA engineering and assurance activity that have an important effect on major programs.\nPrepare, evaluate and, provide assessments of in-house and contracted quality related documentation including implementation of procedures.\n\n\nReview and assess quality documentation for compliance with NASA policies and requirements.\nSupport manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes through documentation and evaluation.\nParticipate in milestone reviews to ensure certification requirements are met.\nDevelop and utilize tools to identify quality requirements for MSFC programs.\nReview drawings, procurement documents, and test results, addressing anomalies and discrepancies.\nAssist in MRB, corrective actions, and failure investigations to improve quality.\nProvide support on all quality areas to include Quality Plans, Surveillance Plans, Inspection Instructions, First Article Inspections, and NC resolutions.\nProvide guidance on quality plans, inspections, nonconformance resolutions.\nDevelop and report Metrics as needed.\nOther duties as assigned\n\n

\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.\nMust have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering field, or a related field.\nMust have 10+ years of recent and related work experience.\nIn-lieu of degree: Candidates with 14+ years of recent and related experience will be considered. \nKnowledge in NASA Spacecraft SMA requirements for Manufacturing Processes in support of the design and development of Flight Hardware.\nPossess a working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System requirements.\nAbility to read complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.\n\n

DESIRED:\n\nExperience supporting integration activities for space flight hardware is highly desired.\nExperience working with aerospace flight hardware in a Manufacturing and Production Environment\n\n

WORK LOCATION: \n\nThis position is located onsite. \nThis position will require shift work.\nThis position may require some travel. \n\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
