About our team: The Raymond Corporation and Toyota Material Handling, Inc. have launched an advanced energy storage manufacturing facility located in Kirkwood, New York. The facility is a vital extension of Raymond’s existing manufacturing operations located in Greene, New York, and will provide support to the growing needs of our material handling customers. These professionals consist of individuals from manufacturing, engineering, quality, material handling, warehouse, facility, maintenance and program management. About the position: We are in search of a Quality Engineer to join our team in Kirkwood. This is an integral position. You will work to define and implement Quality Systems from the ground up for the newly formed Energy Solutions business. This position will work closely with Operations, Engineering and Suppliers to understand existing systems within the Raymond business and utilize best practices during the implementation within Energy Solutions. In this role, you will: * Provide project leadership and develop processes/procedures for all aspects of quality in the newly formed Energy Solutions business. * Regularly perform root cause analysis for issues affecting quality, cost and delivery. * Under limited supervision, uses extensive technical skills, expertise, and knowledge of quality techniques as applied to energy storage systems, charging systems and component parts. * Evaluate technical quality problems and develop solutions to such problems with appropriate documentation (e.g., engineering changes or quality system procedures). * Display expert understanding of manufacturing processes with expertise in energy, electronics, electrical and mechanical assemblies, as well as, fabricated, machined, and molded parts. * Act as a Team Leader or as a key team member in completion/resolution of large, consequential quality system projects. * Perform scheduled and unscheduled audits of production and supplier processes to assure compliant product and processes. * Perform standard engineering work requiring application of recognized techniques and procedures. * Complete work assignments utilizing independent evaluation, auditing, original thinking, and ingenuity. * Provide technical information and data analytics cross-functionally. * Interact with domestic and global customers and suppliers. About the schedule: This is a fully onsite, 1st shift position. Travel up to 25% of the time - both domestic and international travel required. About You: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or computer science. * 3 + years of engineering experience. * Driven individual with the ability to work well independently or in a group setting. * Possess excellent presentation and written and oral communication skills. * Self-motivated with a solutions-focused drive for continuous improvement. It would be great if you had: * Experience in Quality Engineering. * Prior manufacturing or quality experience in the battery, fuel cell or similar industries. * Excellent ability to read and interpret GD&T engineering drawings. * Knowledge of quality systems used in the manufacturing environment and/or software development. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and MS Project. * Experience with: Statistics, Statistical methods, Toyota Production Systems, Part Production Approval Process, Lean Techniques and/or continuous improvement. About the total compensation package: Salary - $88,000- $131,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience. Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
