Quality Engineer I

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Quality Engineer I to join our team in Duluth GA. This position is responsible for acting in the internal quality control process, performing technical coordination of customer nonconforming cases, non-conforming product evaluations, overseeing the correct use of the non-conformance records throughout the business, training technicians on the job and maintaining a good contact with QC departments in our manufacturing plants.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinate non-conformance reworks, guiding and coaching the personnel involved on the correct use of their tools with the goal of always seeking the best results.

Enforce customer/supplier philosophy throughout the business.

Support repairs and inspections and make sure they use adequate quality records.

Audit internal processes periodically, identifying weak points and suggesting possible solutions.

Establish a good network with all the supporting areas (Sales, After Sales, Warehouse, etc.) to help with any problem-solving process.

Collaborate with the Manufacturing Plants Quality Engineers on data collection for problem solving.

Participate in the analysis of customer returned products whenever necessary.

Participate in cross-functional teams to evaluate quality issues.

Monitor and report on quality control key performance indicators and corrective actions.

Education:

Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge / training:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Root cause analysis and other investigative techniques desired.

Familiarity with assembly tools and equipment desired.

Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish a plus.

Experience:

1-4 years of experience required
