Quality Engineer II
SUMMARYThe Quality Engineer II (QE) will work in a team environment and will be responsible for planning and directing improvement activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards of current processes, equipment, materials, and products to meet customer needs.  The QE II will have full ownership for specific manufacturing process(es).  This position is located in West Chester, PA.   

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement quality control systems to ensure product reliability, conformance to standards, and compliance with established quality policies.Drive continuous process improvements for sustainability in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity within the area of focus. Partner with the Continuous Improvement Lead and Process Engineering to achieve implementation of identified items.Compile monthly scrap & yield data into trend charts and pareto charts to prioritize improvement actions.Establish regular communication of data. Contribute to problem solving teams and facilitate action plans.Responsible for managing supplier non-conformance process, including communicating with suppliers regarding rejections, and issuing, reviewing and closing supplier corrective actions.Support inspection and production as required to ensure test and measurement systems are appropriate for meeting required specifications.Review customer returned units for verify failure modes. Work with Process Engineering to determine root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Communicate status and findings to customers as required.Responsible for managing the customer notification process for design, process, and supplier changes as required by customer contracts.Develop and maintains forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Maintains accurate quality assurance documentation. Ensures that all testing procedures and outcomes are properly recorded.Contribute to PPAP preparation for supplier and internal part qualifications, including Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, PFMEAs, Capability Studies, and Gage R&R studies.Compiles training material and conducts training/ coaching sessions on quality control and manufacturing activities.Trains production staff and Quality Technicians on quality control measures to improve product quality and minimize defects.Conducts internal audits in accordance with QMS requirements to ensure adherence to quality standards and identifies areas for improvement.Responsible for managing the calibration process for measurement tools, including internal and external calibration.Champion the company’s culture, core valuesCritical CompetenciesExcellent communication skillsHigh sense of urgency and results driven Ability to work in a team & cross functional environment Demonstrated proficiency in time and project managementUnderstanding of lean manufacturing principlesEducation and Experience Requirements Undergraduate degree in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or related field3-5 years minimum of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing facilityExperience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified environment requiredExperience with 8D Problem Solving is requiredExperience with PPAP, Product Part Approval Process, is requiredExperience implementing corrective actions, Statistical Product Control (SPC), FAI, Product testing and FMEA Control Plan is preferredExperience with CMM and/or Keyence Programming is preferred
