We optimize our resources by leading quality functions in new product and industrial projects, performing product audits, and are the Hagerstown contact point for our customers. Most importantly, we love where we work, we enjoy each other, and we cannot wait to welcome a new team member! **We are looking for:** An experienced Project Quality Manager candidate who is able to develop positive relationships with all functions of our organization. This role is directly involved with powertrain product and industrial projects and is a key contributor to the success of our organization. We are seeking someone who understands the importance and the impact of quality and acts quickly to mitigate risks. This role is responsible for fostering a Continuous Improvement culture to better understand our customer needs, leading to successful project launches, and higher employee engagement. **Main Activities and Responsibilities:** + Oversee and manage the quality assurance procedures for various projects + Communicate cross-functionally within project teams to ensure all project activities are being followed per Volvo Standards + Lead and drive project activities using proper quality tools and methodology + Identify project risks and act accordingly to mitigate project impact + Coordinate and participate in problem-solving teams to resolve potential project risks + Analyze, prioritize, document, and follow up on all Project Quality responsibilities + Lead or participate in the creation of Quality Targets, Quality History, Gate Audits, PFMEA, Control Plan, Capability Studies, and Acceptance Testing criteria + Participate in Design Reviews, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), and Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and with machine suppliers + Drive Continuous Improvement using Kaizens and other lean manufacturing tools **Critical Competencies and Experience** + Excellent communication skills to work cross-functionally with our production and project teams to establish a trustworthy network + Experience with SPC implementation and/or utilization + Machining and/or assembly experience + Problem-solving expert with a strong customer focus + Understanding of project impact to aid in proper decision-making + Knowledge of lean methodology concepts and quality tools to coach and grow the competencies of Project Teams + Knowledge of both heavy-duty powertrain components and assembly processes + The ideal candidate for this position has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in quality, manufacturing, engineering, or technical service. For this position, the base salary range is set at $81,430-$100,590 and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
