As a Quality Engineer (QE) in Worldwide Safety Assurance Disneyland Resort Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical safety, compliance assurance, and oversight for Disneyland Resort attractions and facilities. The Quality Engineer exercises broad discretion while providing required expert technical mentorship to ensure that our attractions and facilities are stays in sync with applicable Regulations, Standards, and Codes. This is an internal assignment / project hire role. The position will work with the Manager, Quality Assurance.
What You Will Do:Required Qualifications & SkillsConduct inspections to competently examine and assess the electrical systems, including main power, auxiliary power, and lighting of the registered attractions and facilities.
Support inspections, audits, and related efforts to resolve compliance of assigned registered attractions to California Permanent Amusement Ride regulations.
Assist with audits performed by the Quality Engineers to support annual certification of the registered attractions. Follow up on, correct and close out findings and observations.
Sign the annual Certificate of Compliance for assigned attractions to CA Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)
Lead all aspects of DOSH inspections and investigations.
We provide general Quality Engineering support to internal partners, such as Engineering, Engineering Services, Central Shops, Operations, and others as the need arises.
Assist in the development of compliance-related processes and procedures, including internal and external standards.
Review and assess alignment of requirements and frequency between Manufacturer’s Requirements, Operating Guides, Job Plans, and maintenance criteria.
We participate in hazard analysis, design, Harding testing, and delivery reviews for compliance with codes and standards.
Establish and follow a framework for identifying the completion of all necessary documentation, including drawings, manuals, procedures, training, and certification to permit and ensure the safe use of the system by Cast and Guests!
Review drawings, engineering calculations, specifications and ensure that all projects are crafted and executed to applicable local and state codes and statutes.
Must be knowledgeable of ISS Testing (Integrated Safety Systems Testing) conducted by Quality Engineering.
QualificationsConfirmed experience inspecting structures including foundations.
Minimum 1 year of experience in Engineering
Minimum 2 years of amusement park experience
Experience with design, installation, and commissioning of complex systems that meet regulatory and industrial standards.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex data relationship in concise and straight forward presentations.
Ability to lead, balance, and prioritize different projects.
Confirmed knowledge of Maximo, EDMS, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
Familiar with California Electrical Code, IEEE electrical low voltage (Brown, Buff and Red book) , California energy code (i.e. Title 24), able to develop concepts, further and enhance electrical safety practices.
Ability to work after hours and off-shift hours as required.
Preferred QualificationsCA Professional Engineer’s License
Familiarity with industry regulatory, compliance standards and processes.
American Society for Quality Certifications.
QSI certification
Proficient in the National Electrical Code (latest edition).
EducationBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Additional InformationThe hiring range for this position in Anaheim, California is $98,000.00 to $126,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
