Quality Engineer (Level 2)

**Description:** The person in this position reports to the F\-35 Supplier Quality Integration Manager and will serve as the primary liaison in one Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Build Areas working with several suppliers on the F\-35 Program regarding quality issues\. This individual will be responsible for ensuring suppliers are delivering products that meet all contractual and technical requirements\. They will also be responsible for driving rapid containment and effective root cause and corrective action on quality defects escaped to the F\-35 production assembly operations\.
Will utilize statistical methods and preventive action methods to evaluate and initiate actions to identify and control sources of variation detrimental to quality, cost, and schedule targets\.
Scope of responsibility also includes; quality and cost data analysis, containment activity, lead root cause, corrective and preventive action investigations/ decisions/ validations, variation management actions, supplier quality integration tasks, along with area improvement strategy and planning\. Responsible and accountable for delivering effective methods and initiating improvements that will drive and improve overall quality performance reducing area defects and Scrap, Rework, Repair cost to minimum as measured and trended by quality diagnostic measurement system\. Will collaborate with various functions to assure compliance and continuous improvement\.
This position supports a facility that requires special access\.

**Basic Qualifications:**
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in STEM or equivalent experience/combined education\.
• Familiar/experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action or solving problems in a systematic way
• Ability to act independently and make data\-based decisions\.
• Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and presentations\.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office \(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook\)\.
**Desired Skills:**
• Production support experience \(as QE/ME/FSQE/SQE or similar\)\.
• Major assembly or F\-35 experience\.
• Demonstrated ability to work at all levels of the organization to identify and drive systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative, qualitative analytical capabilities to communicate and influence others in a concise, data driven manner\.
• High\-energy, self\-starting, team player who achieves goals\.
• Green Belt, CQE certification\.
• Demonstrated quality science expertise in one or more of the following areas: statistical analysis, statistical process control, sampling, six sigma, FAI, PPAP, PFMEA process auditing or validation, root cause analysis and corrective action validations, and supplier quality management\.
**Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

**Ability to Work Remotely:** Part\-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility \(3 or more days\)\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\.
**Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.
**Schedule for this Position:** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
