Quality Engineer - Senior - Process

This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing process and product quality by applying appropriate Goodyear standards and procedures to solve problems. The incumbent seeks solutions to technical problems, conducts work on assigned tasks & exhibits a significant level of knowledge and expertise. - Utilize and apply understanding of Customer requirements (internal and external) relevant to multiple process areas. Understands the influences to the Customer from various functions. - Develop and manage relationships with Suppliers and Customers (internal and external) and drive improvements in Customer satisfaction; appropriately representing Goodyear. - Lead the application of technical solutions to meet product and process requirements. Acknowledged content expert, teaching others and developing new approaches to achieve requirements. Network with other technical experts to improve processes and solve problems. - Accountable to drive product and process improvements within relevant quality guidelines and standards using appropriate quality engineering tools. Drive process improvements cross-functionally, leveraging synergies across the organization. - Coach and teach Plant Optimization (PO) and use PO methods to drive process improvements. - Audit and insure the use of current technology and standards in performing assigned tasks, as well as supporting innovative methods and technologies to improve. - Apply expertise to anticipate problems, and develop solutions with appropriate tools and methods that deliver defined objectives which meet business needs. Disseminate techniques to anticipate and mitigate risks. Responsibilities: TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY     
Develop and advise on new technical solutions to meet product requirements.
Possess a thorough understanding of available technology and standards. Use appropriate level of technology for application.  Work on teams to develp new technology to meet requirements. Avoid inappripriate levels of risk.
Develop and advise others on processes within functional group. Engage in external collaboration and cross divisional processes.
Internally and externally advise others on evolving technologies. Insure transfer to projects and functions.
Develop technology products or processes and advise others, leading to innovation.    PROBLEM SOLVING     
Anticipate and identify problems proactively. Develop and advise on new problem solving strategies.
Use collaboration to solve problems and make decisions. Develop new tools and methods to solve problems. Identify external resources of value to Goodyear. Collect data and inputs to make decisions. Consult with resources. Make decisions based on facts. Consider alternatives and rule out unlikely outcomes. Advise others on novel processes.
Identify high impact projects and implement solutions. Develop innovative solutions to large complex technical problems.
Develop and advise on new data analysis techniques cross-functionally.
  PROJECT MANAGEMENT     
Use known, and develop new, tools and stanadards for project execution.
Execute, develop, and advise necessary steps and activities for project execution. Deliver to project objectives. Provide expertise and advice that adds value to project planning. Use project risk management process to manage risks. Develop and create approaches to mitigate risk. Advise on lessons learned. Develop/advise/use creative approaches to execute projects. Execute project closeout phase while developing the process. Develop new methods for, and advise others on, project conflict resolutions. Anticpate conflicts and develop contingency plans. 
  Requirements: Bachelors degree in Science/Technology/Engineering/Math.  5 or more years experience across at least two departments, divisions or locations
Demonstrated ability to teach and apply systematic problem solving tools and techniques
Demonstrated ability to understand and troubleshoot complex equipment and process problems
Demonstrated ability to teach and apply new tools and techniques to improve existing processes
Cross-functional project leadership/management experience, PMP certification preferred Instill positive attitudes on peers. Provide constructive feedback. Plan and lead meetings. Give clear and concise technical guidance.  Offer constructive disagreement and ability to manage/deflect/diffuse situation. Compelling technical direction and logical conclusion within function.
Actively solicit opportunities for leadership. Cooperate with other teams to meet objectives. Influence others. Drive positive change.  Incorporate lessons learned into effective strategies.   Preferred location is Pulandian, but also open to Kunshan or Shanghai.
