Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer/Specialist is responsible for  driving continuous improvement efforts in product, process, and service quality. This includes direct responsibility for external quality, conducting audits, developing and implementing quality programs, analyzing data, and working with suppliers to improve quality. 

In this role, a typical day will look like:

Direct responsibility for external quality, working closely with operations and service teams to resolve issuesConduct formalized audits as part of the auditing team, both internal and external, to drive continuous improvement effortsDevelop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem-solvingAnalyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.Work cross-functionally with a variety of suppliers to qualify new designs and continuously improve supplier quality using proven techniques.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technology-level diploma, along with experience in a similar role.Experience with electrical/electronic commodities is highly preferredASQ-Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ-CQE), or P.Eng – nice to haveExperience with ISO audits (ISO9001, ISO14001)Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO9001) and appropriate tools, such as Six Sigma, Shainin Red X, etc.Have basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools, and reporting.
