Quality Engineering Manager
Job Title: Quality Engineering Manager Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineering Manager with a strong technical experience to lead our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing Quality Management System (QMS) processes, supporting technical discussions, and providing leadership to a team of engineers and inspectors. This role requires a hands-on approach to hardware, troubleshooting, and a holistic view of process improvement. Responsibilities + Support technical discussions, including failure investigation and root cause analysis (20-30%). + Manage and improve Quality Management System (QMS) processes, particularly in alignment with AS9100 standards (30-50%). + Provide leadership and direction to a team of approximately 12 people, including 3 Quality Engineers and the rest inspectors (30-50%). + Update, upgrade, and continuously improve QMS processes that support AS9100. + Partner with supplier quality teams without leading them. + Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills + Strong technical fundamentals with hands-on experience in hardware. + Proven experience in troubleshooting and deep dive interdisciplinary analysis. + Ability to see the big picture and understand how processes work holistically. + Experience in leadership roles, particularly leading hourly teams with autonomy. + Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements. + Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 in a quality role. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in coding or metrics tools such as PowerBI and SQL databases. + Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or medical device industries. + Start-up experience is a plus. + Training or certification in quality audits such as AS9100 or ISO 9001. Work Environment This role requires a flexible schedule, including occasional Saturdays on a rotational basis. Typical work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with 9-10 hour days being common. The position is based in Texas, with 3-4 days in the main office and 1-2 days in a secondary location. The team operates in a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging autonomy and leveraging team strengths. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
