Job Description:
Client"s Electrical Division is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join our team.
The Quality Engineering Technician will support Quality Engineering by helping to drive continuous improvement. This position will assist in the conceptualization and execution of capital projects and development of manufacturing methods and processes. The position will support operations, maintenance and management of the facility, and capital assets (equipment, machinery, building, etc.) as well.
1. Analyzes warranty returns and writes exam reports.
2. Assure the repair and fast return or resolution of units from customer complaints
3. Gives the follow up on Warranty Tickets till its closure
4. Maintains ST Q-Pulse files.
5. Manage RA repair schedule & Distribute reports
6. Analyze failures on internal rejections and warranty units to identify causes and provide information to support problem solving projects.
7. Performs Electrical Tests (Copper Loss, Impulse, High Pot, Low Pot, Induce and Core loss).
8. Analyze and repair electrical failures
9. Drive initial investigation of coil failures, preserving testing, processing and manufacturing information to perform a root cause analysis.
10. Attends and participates in the daily Tier II, Pass Down and OPS production meetings.
11. Red Tags or attaches failure tickets for nonconforming material and assists in the disposition.
12. Logs inspection results into the computer for purposes of generating quality reports.
13. Utilizes forklift and other material handling equipment to move material within, into and out of inspection area.
14. Performs layered process audits to ensure compliance to established procedures and quality standards.
15. Actively participates in the MRB reviews.
16. Work with Engineers to resolve design and manufacturing process issues.
17. Prepares and issues Quality Reports and Quality Alerts related to Warranty Complaints
18. Prepares and distributes test reports for Sales
19. Report to production findings from failure analysis
20. Attends and participates in problem solving activities as needed.
21. Completes other duties as may be assigned to include production related operations.
22. Perform routine tests/inspections of finished product, work-in-process and raw materials and compares results against specifications to determine quality status.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or G.E.D
3. Excellent verbal and written communication and math skills.
4. Demonstrate the ability to read and understand prints and shop drawings.
5. Proficient in the use of different inspection gauges including: tape measures, scales, calipers, etc.
6. Excellent attendance and punctuality, demonstrates the ability to work without close supervision.
7. Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute projects in a timely manner.
8. Able to communicate with leads and supervisors in other departments shifts to ensure smooth product flow.
9. Strong computer skills to include MS Office and SAP.
10. Candidate must be a self-starter, motivated and possess good teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1. Knowledge of single phase transformers.
2. Ability to identify and solve problems.
3. Working knowledge of different processes to build transformers
4. Working knowledge on Lean and Six Sigma tools.
5. Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute projects in a timely manner.
