Responsibilities The QFSE Supervisor participates in overseeing food safety and quality activities including maintaining the documentation and records of the Food Safety, Quality and compliance Programs. This position assists with verifying that programs are being executed properly and ensures that all activities related to Food Safety & Quality are execute correctly and consistently. This position has the responsibility to always comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce BEF core Values. Supervises the QFSE technicians in the scheduling and execution of assigned tasks. Compiles and reports on metrics data for plant QFSE performance Conducts higher level verification activities such as internal PrP audits, and periodic records review Documents the release of product that may be placed on hold Provides guidance on corrective actions in the event of quality non-conformance situations and escalates the issue to plant leadership. Supports/executes investigative, corrective, and preventive actions Provides training to QFSE leads and Technicians on QFSE programs. Participates in the creation and training of plant personnel on QFSE and Safety topics. Conducts consumer and customer complaint investigations and work with plant management to find solutions. Support product test lot activities to assure products meet specifications. Provide reports on quality data for plant quality, operations, corporate quality and other support groups. Ensures sanitary conditions and product quality and safety while reporting conditions/practices that may adversely affect food safety, quality, or employee safety. Write and/or assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions for quality and food safety activities. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management and correct any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Qualifications AA or BA in Food Science or related life sciences or commensurate experience Minimum 4-6 years’ supervisory or managerial experience in a food plant manufacturing environment. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, GMPs, food safety, GLPs, statistics and lab techniques required.
