Quality Improvement Facilitator

***THIS POSITION IS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY & BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE***

Seeking qualified applicant with certification and knowledge in Lean Six Sigma, Project Management or related field.  Proven track record in influencing improvement in quality outcomes favorably is helpful.

This position facilitates major/significant organizational change initiatives intended to improve clinical quality, efficiency, effectiveness, timeliness, patient satisfaction or financial performance within a clinical department.

Job Duties of the Quality Improvement Facilitator include but are not limited to:

*Provides advice and training on the development, administration and technical aspects of the organization’s quality improvement efforts at all levels.  
*Assists medical staff and clinicians assessing patient care and identifying areas/processes for improvement. 
*Provides leadership to clinical department in quality improvement and resource management, including development of priorities and objectives, improvement methods, and logistics.  
*Works cooperatively with senior administrative and clinical leadership to (a) identifies improvement opportunities, (b) establishes expectations for improvement initiatives, and (c) determines resources (financial, staff, data, management) needed to accomplish goals.  *Functions as a strategist in identifying trends, developing reports that are reflective of critical thinking  and sound improvement recommendations; proactively engages frontline staff in change management strategies to positively impact patient care, patient experience, and clinical outcomes.

What We Require:


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field or Equivalent 8 years experience required. Masters Degree Preferred/ Preference will be given to Registered Nurses with diverse clinical experience and/or experience in Quality Improvement, Patient Safety or Risk Management.

Experience: Five years experience in clinical setting or demonstrated skill leading quality and/or patient safety improvement projects in complex organizational environments preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification required – defined by area: CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred; CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) or CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) acceptable. Must have plan to obtain at least one of these certifications within 2 years of hire.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational ability, and initiative. Proven ability to understand and apply analytical tools and make process improvement recommendations. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office software and able to learn other software as needed. Good project management and team dynamic skills in order to facilitate change and achievement of defined outcomes. Must be able to work with minimal amount of supervision
