A Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products or services meet established quality standards and specifications. They perform inspections, tests, and audits to identify any defects or deviations from quality requirements. Quality Inspectors use various tools and techniques to measure and evaluate the quality of materials, components, and finished products. They document and report any non-conformities and work closely with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Additionally, they may participate in the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
Monitor in shop electrical operation and conduct visual inspections. Inspect, test all equipment manufactured at Powell facilities according to Powell Standards. Assist Senior Quality Inspector in Power up of all Powell Electrical Product and other buyout equipment’s with safety procedures and pre-commissioning check. such as Transformers, Service Panels, HVAC, Battery Chargers, UPS System, etc. Perform equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis. Responsible for performing all aspects of inspection activities with minimum supervision. Ensure that quality document latest revisions are available to and are being utilized while performing the work. Complete and maintain all test Quality Control documentation as required. Perform maintenance and calibration on test equipment as needed. Identifies and issue of non-conformance report to Manufacturing Manager to known standard using various measuring and testing methods and assist the appropriate functional area to find the appropriate disposition to non-conformance, ensuring that the appropriate corrective action to prevent recurrence. Interaction with all departments (shop, engineering, sales, shipping, fabrication, PCR, switchgear) including customers to work to resolve quality related issues. Interaction with all departments during production, final inspection and final release to shipping is required. External relationships may include regular interaction with other Powell subsidiaries and or customers. Coordinate with customers and Senior QC inspectors for the resolution of shop problem as well as Factory Acceptance Test. Record Engineering and Shop discrepancies and shortage. Fully participates in continuous process improvement and cost control, following quality policies and procedure and standards to maintain with company guidelines. Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings. Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality. Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma (Journeyman Electrician Trade Ticket is an asset). Minimum 0-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiar with the use of test equipment such as multi meter, clamp-on-meter, voltage detector, Hi-Pot, etc. Intermediate experience working with industry codes and standards and able to refer to applicable codes. Basic Knowledge of Electrical Theory and relevant Mechanical experience. Ability to read prints including specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists and part drawings.Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements

Safety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities. Required to always wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required. Working at a desk and computer in an office environment is required. Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders) and scaffolding. Working at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air or using proper lift equipment.Physical Requirements
Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs. Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously. Continuous standing, walking 50–300-foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting. Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift. Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently. Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.
