Job Summary:

The Oak Ridge Quality Inspector is responsible for making sure all systems produced are tested prior to shipment to the customer. This position is responsible for working with quality, engineering and production personnel to develop and resolve testing activities.

Position Summary:  The Quality Inspector will ensure incoming parts and assemblies meet quality standards.  They will conduct outgoing quality inspections to ensure systems  and detection instruments operate per established procedures (routers, build procedures, control plans, etc.). This position is responsible for working with quality, engineering and production personnel to develop and resolve testing activities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspection and test of all completed products and or sub-assemblies according to quality and safety standardsDevelops and maintains quality documentation and inspection reportsCollaborate with quality, engineering, and production personnel to resolve quality-related issues Perform incoming inspection and/or testing on vendor-supplied parts Evaluate and process non-conforming material Work with manufacturing, engineering, and other personnel to resolve Able to use measurement/inspection tools like calipers, multi-meters, micrometers, microscopes, etc Ensure quality-related tool calibrations/maintenance  on schedule and records maintained in accordance with procedures Update quality-related databases, spreadsheets etc Assists other departments as needed

Job Qualifications:

Prefer at least 2 years experience building, inspecting, and /or testing electronic assembliesHigh School diploma or GED Comfortable and knowledgeable with computers and software  (SAP or other MRP software experience beneficial)Able to use Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PP, etc)Prior experience working in ISO-9001 or AS-9100 quality management systemAbility to read electrical schematics and assembly drawingsProven experience working with surface-mount components, printed circuit boards from engineering drawings, cable assemblies and harnesses from engineering drawings, vacuum lines and tubing, complex electro-mechanical instrumentsAble to work independently with little supervisionStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
