**Job Title: Quality Inspector** **Job Description** Under limited supervision, performs the inspection of the most complex parts and assemblies. The Quality Inspector requires the mechanical ability and experience to perform inspections of simple electrical, complex mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and assemblies. In addition, they perform complicated layout inspection for the first piece, in-process, and final inspection. The Quality Inspector makes decisions regarding inspection problems and skillfully uses all inspection gauges and instruments, including their set up, analysis, and adjustment. **Responsibilities** + Perform required inspections of complex parts and assemblies using complicated blueprints, sketches, written and/or verbal specifications. + Document inspection results and make decisions regarding inspection problems. + Skillfully use all inspection gauges and instruments, including their set up, analysis, and adjustment. + Calibrate measuring gauges and equipment as directed. + Lead and assist other inspectors and make setups for their use. + Move parts and materials to and from work area. + Work closely with Engineering, Assembly/Test, and Operations to resolve quality issues. + May act as Level I Operator or Level II Inspector in areas such as liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, or eddy currents. + Must pass required eye tests and be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. + Follow company policies, including safety and attendance. + Maintain a clean and well-organized work area. + Communicate with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner. + Perform other duties as assigned by management. **Essential Skills** + Experience in inspection, quality control, and use of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, go-no-go gauges, and CMM. + Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of GD&T. + Visual inspection and quality check skills. + Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical education preferred. + Five years’ experience as an inspector with demonstrated acceptable performance of required inspection operations. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency in standard shop math, including trigonometry and geometry. + Full knowledge of machine shop and assembly operations. + Understanding of basic electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. **Work Environment** Clean manufacturing environment.
