Description
Our client in Harmony is looking for a Quality Inspector for a contract to hire fully onsite role. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured products meet the specified quality standards and comply with industry regulations. The inspector will conduct regular inspections, tests, and audits to identify defects, discrepancies, or deviations in the manufacturing process. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of quality control practices in a manufacturing environment. Hours are 9pm-7am, Sunday through Thursday and pay ranges from $23-$26.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspection & Testing:
o Inspect and test incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
o Use various measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to assess
the dimensions, weight, and quality of products.
o Ensure the adherence to product specifications, safety standards, and regulatory
requirements.
2. Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and any non-conformance
issues.
o Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to the management team.
o Document corrective actions and improvements in quality control processes.
3. Process Control:
o Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality and identify potential
problems early.
o Work with production teams to address any quality issues and ensure timely
resolution.
o Suggest improvements to enhance quality, reduce waste, and optimize production
efficiency.
4. Audit & Compliance:
o Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory
requirements, and company procedures.
o Assist with external audits or inspections as required.
o Help implement corrective actions based on audit findings and ensure that
corrective measures are followed.
5. Training & Support:
o Provide training to production staff on quality control standards, procedures, and
best practices.
o Assist in developing and updating quality control protocols and standard
operating procedures (SOPs).
6. Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:
o Investigate and analyze root causes of product defects or non-conformance.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and
improve manufacturing processes.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in
manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing
environment is preferred. Experience in using precision measuring instruments and
conducting inspections is a plus.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with quality control standards (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.) and
manufacturing processes.
• Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
o Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment.
o Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other quality control software.
