Job Title: Quality Inspector CMM
Job Description

Inspects machined parts, components, assemblies, and materials to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Military Standards, ASTM, AWS, ANSI, and ASME Code). Provides various electronic and hard copy reports of inspections and notifies appropriate parties including project engineers. Sets up and operates measuring and test equipment to include Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Operates Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) equipment to achieve part acceptance, including equipment set up, inspection techniques, and final dimensional inspections while the product is in-process, and prepares, updates, and maintains computer databases. Observes testing and provides the quality oversight necessary to verify compliance with requirements/standards. May interact with and provide responses to regulatory agencies and customers during their audits and review of company inspection and calibration activities. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. May coordinate the procurement of standard materials, services, and parts for inspections. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

ResponsibilitiesInspect machined parts, components, assemblies, and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.Provide electronic and hard copy inspection reports and notify project engineers.Set up and operate measuring and test equipment, including GD&T.Operate CMM equipment for part acceptance, including equipment setup, inspection techniques, and final dimensional inspections.Prepare, update, and maintain computer databases.Observe testing and provide quality oversight to verify compliance with requirements and standards.Interact and respond to regulatory agencies and customers during audits and reviews of inspection and calibration activities.Monitor and verify quality according to statistical process or other control procedures.Coordinate the procurement of standard materials, services, and parts for inspections.Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and obligations, and work safely according to established procedures and practices.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency in GD&T.Ability to operate CMMs; CMM programming experience is highly desirable.Intermediate knowledge of CMM software programs (PC-DMIS or other metrology software).Experience with ISO 9001, AS 9100/9102.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.Strong communication skills for effective interface with all levels of employees including management.Ability to interpret complex information and respond to complex issues.Ability to work alternate shifts and extended hours as required.Ability to work independently or in a team environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree, trade school certificate, military training, or equivalent in quality inspections or certification by a professional group such as ASQ or AWS.Three or more years of progressive experience in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or metrology inspection and calibration.Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) quality assurance program requirements in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.Currently possess or the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance is highly desirable.Work Environment

Onsite position in Tupelo, MS, working on new products and new programs. The work schedule is 4 10-hour days, with Fridays off. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and established operating procedures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
