Job Title: Quality Inspector II

Job Description

The role of the Quality Inspector II is to use advanced inspection techniques and equipment to perform quality inspections on Machine Shop, Waterjet products. This position successfully executes inspection strategies with minimal assistance. The position is for the 2nd shift.

ResponsibilitiesPerform First Article, In-Process, and Final inspections with little to no assistancePerform inspections on product received from Outside ProcessesInspect parts to print and models using various inspection techniques and equipmentRecognize DMR and CAR issues and effectively resolve themMonitor production in process through random auditing, record findings, and work with shop supervisors to correct issuesApply concepts to inspect products efficientlyComplete inspection reports and verify Customer Cert RequirementsInput data into ERP system relating to DMR’sFollow applicable Procedures and Work Instructions and offer ideas for improvementProvide solutions to less experienced Quality InspectorsAssist the production team and offer guidance in following ISO9001 & AS9100 processesCommunicate to customers through appropriate channels and follow up on Quality related issuesSupport all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasOther duties as assignedEssential SkillsIntermediate to Advanced knowledge of GD&TProficient knowledge of CMM software and ability to program intermediate to advanced level programsUnderstanding of AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality SystemsKnowledge of Keyence Instant Measurement SystemsIntermediate to Advanced skill with all surface plate inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparator, and various other inspection equipmentIn-depth knowledge of raw material specification and certification processIn-depth knowledge of outside process, heat treat, anodizing, etc.Strong knowledge of hand measurement toolsStrong knowledge of measurement equipmentIntermediate computer skills & knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAdditional Skills & QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of relationship management skills and conflict resolutionAbility to be professionally demanding with suppliers when necessaryDemonstrate motivation and accountability to achieve individual and department goalsEffective written and verbal communication skills to manage their teamsAbility to organize, prioritize and manage multiple high complexity projects in a cross-functional environmentDemonstrate initiative and personal accountability to meet work demands and work effectively under pressureGrasps complex concepts, anticipate possible problems and generate solutions with high-level problem-solving skillsExercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations when time is criticalAbility to offer expert knowledge and insight to develop their teamAbility to respond and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and facility needsStrong attention to detail and commitment to train team effectively produce high quality workDemonstrate teamwork by mentoring, sharing knowledge and helping their teamWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced with noise conditions ranging from moderate to extreme. Hearing protection will be provided if needed and/or by request. Employees may be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and hot metal and machining components. Physical requirements include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers to operate computers and inspection equipment, handle and feel parts of various sizes, bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally, push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs, and focus vision for close vision, color vision, depth perception, and adjusting to sharp focus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
